Angels

What we call angels are really
highly organized spiritual ministers, who help us through every level of our
ascension career. Before we get into who
the angels are specifically, let’s study what Jesus said about them. (p.1841)
The angels are a separate order
of created beings. They do not reproduce
themselves. They never die. “The
angels are the spirit servants in heaven, and they are neither all-wise nor
all-powerful. But all of the loyal
angels are truly pure and holy.” (p.
1841)
What angels do is to keep our
world in touch with other worlds. And
while functioning in the government of the father and the universes of the sons
this way they are also assigned to the service of the human races. "When I taught you that many of these
seraphim are ministering spirits, I spoke not in figurative language nor in
poetic strains. (p. 1841)
"Many of these angels are
engaged in the work of saving men for have I not told you of the seraphic joy
when one soul elects to forsake sin and begin the search for God? I did even tell you of the joy in the
presence of angels of heaven over one sinner who repents, thereby indicating
the existence of other (and higher orders of celestial beings who are likewise
concerned in the spiritual welfare and with the divine progress of mortal
man. (p.1541)
From the Urantia Book we learn
that the supernaphim are the angelic hosts of the central universe; the
seconaphim are the angelic hosts of the superuniverses and the seraphim are the
angelic hosts of the local universes.
All of these angels are employed in the furtherance of the ascending
scheme of progressive perfection for the children of time.
Functioning in the central,
super, and local universes, they form that unbroken chain of spirit ministers
which has been provided by
the infinite spirit for the help and guidance of all who seek to attain
the Universal Father through the eternal son.

Paper 26- Ministering Spirits of the Central Universe (p.285)
Supernaphim - Ministering spirits of paradise and the central universe. They
are the highest order of the lowest group of the children of the infinite
spirit, the angelic hosts.
Angels are the
ministering-spirit associates of the evolutionary and ascending will creatures
of all space. They have distinct
personalities and are highly individualized.
They all have an appreciation for the reversion directors (sense of
fun). They enjoy seasons of rest and
change and possess very social natures.
The individual members of the angelic orders are not altogether
stationary as to personal status in the universe (can ascend)
There are 3 orders of
supernaphim that serve in the Paradise Havona system. Primary or Paradise Supernaphim are created
by the Infinite Spirit. Secondary and
tertiary orders, who serve in Havona, are the offspring of the master spirits
and of the spirits of the circuits, respectively.
Angels are sustained directly by
the intake of the spiritual energy of the primary circuits of the universe.
They also partake of the circulating teachings of the Trinity Teacher Sons.
Supernaphim are created in 3
orders: primary, secondary and tertiary.
We'll start backwards.
Tertiary
Supernaphim: These are the angelic specialists of
the various circuits of Havona. They will be fully visible to us on the billion
study worlds of the perfect central universe.
1. The Harmony Supervisors:
keep everything moving along smoothly and expeditiously on Havona.
2. The Chief Recorders:
keep records, in triplicate, for the files of Havona, their own order, and on
paradise.
3. The Broadcasters:
master technicians - broadcast receivers and senders - operate all basic
circuits of space.
4. The Messengers:
bearers of all messages requiring personal transmission.
5. The Intelligence
Coordinators: promoters of fraternal association between ascending and
descending pilgrims. Keep them informed
regarding universe affairs “'living newspapers”.
6. The Transport
Personalities: take away the disappointed candidates who fail in the deity
adventure.
7. The Reserve Corps:
fill in where needed
Secondary Supernaphim
The directors of the
affairs of ascending beings on the 7 circuits of Havona. When ministering to
us, their created nature is derived from the master spirit of Orvonton our
superuniverse of nativity. We arrive on Havona no longer children of time, but
on the threshold of eternity. All we have is perfection of purpose. These
angels help us achieve perfection of personality.
1. The Pilgrim Helpers: welcome ascenders of space to the
stabilized worlds and settled economy of the central universe. Work on the supreme
understanding of the paradise trinity, the spiritual comprehension of the
father-son partnership, and the
intellectual recognition of the infinite spirit with us. They function on the 7th circuit of Havona
worlds.
2. The Supremacy Guides: function on 6th circle of Central
Universe. Ascenders achieve a new realization of supreme divinity - the
spiritual reality of God the Supreme.
3. The Trinity Guides: 5th circle of Havona. Receive advanced instruction concerning the
divine trinity in preparation of achieving personality recognition of the
Infinite Spirit.
4. The Son Finders: 4th Havona circuit. Help ascending pilgrims achieve an
understanding contact with the Eternal Son -
a. adequate spiritual comprehension of the son,
b. satisfying personality recognition of the son,
c. proper differentiation of the son from the
personality of' the infinite spirit. If a pilgrim fails the 1st time, they are
always successful the 2nd time, and they keep their same angels both times.
5. The Father Guides. 3rd circle of Havona. Most experienced and oldest supernaphim
guide the pilgrim. Once the Universal
Father is attained, it is the passport to eternity. "step by step, life by life, world by
world, the ascendant career has been mastered, and the goal of deity has been
attained. Survival is complete in
perfection, and perfection is replete in the supremacy of divinity. Time is lost in eternity; space is swallowed
up in worshipful identity and harmony with the Universal Father. The broadcasts of Havona flash forth the
space reports of glory, the good news that in very truth the conscientious
creatures of animal nature and material origin have, through evolutionary
ascension, become in reality and eternally the perfected sons of God." (p.
295)
6. The Counselors and Advisors: 2nd circle of Havona. Instruct the children of time on the career
of eternity. If a pilgrim fails to
attain the Universal Father, they come
here before returning to superuniverse service.
7. The Complements of Rest: last circuit. A continuation of the study of the impending
problems of paradise residence.
"near the end of the first circle sojourn the ascending pilgrims
first meet the instigators of rest of the primary order of supernaphim. These
are the angels of paradise coming out to greet those who stand at the threshold
of eternity and to complete their preparation for the transition slumber of the
last resurrection. You are not really a
child of paradise until you have traversed the inner circle and have
experienced the resurrection of eternity from the terminal sleep of time. The perfected pilgrims begin this rest, go
to sleep, on the first circle of Havona, but they awaken on the shores of
paradise." P. 297
“Now, as you prepare for the
attainment of rest, there moves over by your side your long-time associate of
the first circle, the majestic complement of rest, who prepares to enter the
rest as one with you, as the pledge of Havona that your transition is complete,
and that you await only the final touches of perfection. P. 297
Paper 27 - Ministry of the
Primary Supernaphim (p. 298)
Primary Supernaphim:
Serve on the isle of
paradise, have never departed from the paths of light and righteousness, are
perfect beings. Minister equally between
paradise citizens and ascendant pilgrims - help these groups understand each
other. Not until we attain paradise
residence do we come under the direct training of primary supernaphim. Primary supernaphim are also placed in
command of the seraphic hosts ministering on worlds isolated because of
rebellion. On Urantia the present
"chief of seraphim" is the 2nd
of this order to be on duty since
the times of the bestowal of Christ Michael.

7 Orders of Primary Supernaphim
1. Instigators of Rest: go to the inner circuit of Havona
to prepare pilgrims for rest and continue their work on paradise, when pilgrim
awakens.
2. Chiefs of Assignment: "the original pattern
angel", presides over the organization of primary, secondary, and tertiary
Supernaphim. Mortal ascenders spend
leisure time with this group of angels before they are admitted to the corps of
the finality. "after sustained
contact with these mighty intellects of paradise, it is very restful to visit
with the angelic types of mind; they remind the mortals of time of the seraphim
with whom they have had such long contact and such refreshing association. (p.
300)
3. Interpreters of Ethics: help pilgrims interpret ethics
as they meet new groups of beings before entering the corps of mortal
finaliters.
4. Directors of Conduct: instruct new members of paradise
society in the usages of the perfect conduct of the high beings who live
there. "Proper conduct is
essential to progress by way of knowledge, through philosophy, to the spiritual
heights of spontaneous worship. (P. 301)
paradise is still strange to us, and these angels act as guides.
5. The Custodians of Knowledge: these angels are the divine
records of truth, the living books of real knowledge. They function as a living reference library
6. Masters of Philosophy: help beings solve universe
problems - they are beings of wisdom.
They conduct courses in the 70 functional divisions of wisdom.
7. Conductors of Worship: worship is the highest privilege
and the first duty of all created intelligences." (p. 303) teach ascendant
creatures how to worship, to gain the full satisfaction of worship in less
time. Now you are qualified for
admission to the corps of the finality.
"And thus ends the story of the paradise supernaphim, the highest
order of all the ministering spirits, those beings who, as a universal class,
ever attend you from the world of your origin until you are finally bidden
farewell by the conductors of worship as you take the trinity oath of eternity
and are mustered into the mortal corps of the finality." (P. 305)
Paper 28 - Ministering Spirits
of the Superuniverses (p. 306)
Seconaphim are the angelic hosts of the 7
superuniverses. They are the children of
the reflective spirits, always created in groups of 7, and are much more like
supernaphim than seraphin. There are 3
orders:
A. The Tertiaphim: a group of 1,000 accompany a Michael
son on the universe adventure of space, until the personalization of the Bright
and Morning Star.of origin in the infinite spirit, dedicated to the liaison
service of the creator sons and the ancients of days.
B. The Omniaphim: servants and messengers to the 7
supreme executives. Created by the
infinite spirit and the 7 supreme executives.
C. The Seconaphim: Primary Seconaphim assigned to the
ancients of days, they function as living mirrors, so the ancients of days can
look both ways, to God and to an. 7 types of service:
1. The Voice of the Conjoint Actor: can interpose the mind
of the infinite spirit to the ancients of days.
2. The Voice of the Seven Master Spirits: portray the
collective natures and reactions
of the 7 master spirits to the ancients of days.
3. The Voice of the Creator Sons: reflective of the minds
of the creator sons to the ancients of days.
4. The Voice of the Angelic Hosts: reflective of all orders of
angels, the supernaphim above and the seraphim below.
5. Broadcast Receivers: synchronize the reflective vision
of the ancients of days with certain actual messages coming in over the
established circuits of universe communication.
6. Transport Personalities: carry the pilgrims of time from
headquarters worlds of their superuniverse to outer circle of Havona.
7. The Reserve Corps: fill-in where needed.
Secondary Seconaphim: 7 reflective types, assigned
to the trinity-origin associates of the ancients of days.
1. The Voice of Wisdom: (assigned to the Perfectors of
Wisdom) in perpetual liaison with the living libraries of paradise and able to
transmit jewels of wisdom from above and below.
2. The Soul of
Philosophy: (assigned to the
Perfectors of Wisdom) remain in focal synchrony with the masters of philosophy
on paradise.
3. The Union of Souls: (assigned to the Perfectors of
Wisdom) reflectors of the ideals and status of ethical relationships - they are
the "oil of reconciliation" for an entire superuniverse. These seconaphim make available current
information regarding the status of the universe and concurrently portray the
paradise ideal. Foster and promote
teamwork.
4. The Heart of Counsel: (assigned to divine counselors) in
possession of the facts of space, in the circuits of time.
5. The Joy of Existence: (assigned to divine counselors)
promote reactions of joy among various orders of angels and the lower will
creatures.
6. The Satisfaction of Service: (assigned to divine
counselors) enhance the value of service and the satisfaction derived from
it. Reflect from one world to another
the benefits derived from spiritual service.
7. The Discerner of Spirits: (assigned to universal
censors) informs re true motive, actual purpose, and real nature of any
individual. They use “spiritual insight” (esp)
Tertiary Seconaphim: collectively assigned to the
Trinitized Sons of attainment. 7 types:
1. The Significance of Origins: relationships and
applications of ethics grow from the basic facts of origin - it is the basis of
the relational reaction of the Gods.
These angels can instantly portray anything on the genesis of any being
in either the Central or superuniverse.
2. The Memory of Mercy: living records of the mercy
extended to individuals and races by the infinite spirit in adjusting the
justice of righteousness to the status of the realms. Also teach ascenders how to be truly
merciful.
3. The Import of Time: in the final judgment before the
ancients of ays, these angels show that
every defendant has had ample time for making decisions, achieving choice.
4. The Solemnity of Trust: portray to will creatures the
sacredness and solemnity of trust and reflect to the governing authorities the
exact trustworthiness of any candidate for trust
5. The Sanctity of Service: they reveal the real nature of
service, they lay bare the deep motives of the human heart.
6 &7 The Secret of Greatness and the Soul of Goodness: the quality
of unselfishness in labor for one's earthly fellows, the exhibition of
self-control. Greatness and goodness are
one in God; they cannot act alone.
Ministry of the Seconaphim
Their origin and headquarters
are on the capitols of the superuniverse (Uversa). The Tertiary Seconaphim minister most
extensively to the ascending creatures of time.
We'll meet them soon after we leave Urantia. We'll make use of their services on the
tarrying worlds of Orvonton, and enjoy their companionship on the Uversa school
worlds. "These tertiary seconaphim
are the timesavers, space abridgers, error detectors, faithful - everlasting
guideposts living signs of divine surety mercy placed at the crossroads of
time, there to guide the feet of anxious pilgrims in moments of great
perplexity and spiritual uncertainty.
Long before attaining the portals of perfection, you will begin to gain
access to the tools of divinity and to make contact with the techniques of
deity. Increasingly from the time you
arrive on the initial mansion world until you close your eyes in the Havona
sleep preparatory to your paradise transit, you will avail yourself of the
emergency help of these marvelous beings, who are so fully and freely
reflective of the sure knowledge and certain wisdom of those safe and
dependable pilgrims who have preceded you on the long journey to the portals of
perfection." (P. 318)
Paper
38 - Ministering Spirits of the Local Universe
(p.418)
"Angels
are the ministering spirits of time." P.418
Seraphim, with the associated
cherubim and sanobim, are the angelic corps of a local universe. Mortal ascenders have initial contact with
these angels. All are uniform in design.
Origin -- created by Universe
Mother Spirit and are still being
created in Nebadon, which is a growing universe.
Natures - spirit nature and
origin, invisible to us, but they can see us, intellectually understand our
life, and share our non-sensuous emotions. They enjoy our music, art, and real
humor. "They love human beings, and
only good can result from your efforts to understand and love them" (P.
419)
Angels function on both
spiritual and literal levels. They
possess any powers beyond our own (e.g. math.)
They are superior to us in spiritual status, but do not judge us, nor
are they objects of worship. Once
delivered from the flesh, we will be very much like angels.
Seraphic worlds - 9th group
of 7 primary spheres in the Salvington
circuit. "Here each seraphim has a
real home, "home” means the domicile of 2 seraphim; they live in
pairs." P.420
They are negative and positive,
not male and female. Seraphim also have
group, company, battalion, unit headquarters.
They have reunions every millennium and are present in accordance with
the time of their creation.
Seraphic training - 1st
millennium, observers on Salvington 2nd millennium, seraphic worlds of the
Salvington circuit. They learn, then
train the next group. Then they are
assigned to constellations. Seraphim
are initiated as ministering spirits by serving as observers on the lowest
evolutionary worlds. Then they do
advanced studies, after which they serve in a local system. Then they are commissioned, and they may
range throughout Nebadon on assignment.
The seraphim are highly organized, under Michael and Gabriel.
Cherubim and sanobim: same
origin as seraphim, but different destiny.
Lowest order of angels, closest to human beings. Serve in pairs. Only serve in local universe, assist
seraphim. Every 4th one is
quasi-material (similar to morontial).
These: work closely with the midwayers.
They eventually ascend to become seraphim.
Paper 39- The Seraphic Hosts (p.
426)
Seraphim are created in 7
groups. They are diverse, and at first
limited to their original group. But
through devoted service these seraphim can achieve all 7 groups. Though seraphim have no childhoods; they are
experiential creatures and thus can add to their inherent ability with the
learning of functional skills.
They persistently seek
assignment to the lower orders of universe service, especially into the
planetary helpers group, where they can enroll in the celestial schools at the
headquarters of the planetary prince of some evolutionary world. At these schools they learn the languages, history,
and local habits of the races of mankind
- they acquire knowledge and
experience like we do. They want to
start at the bottom in order to achieve the highest possible level of experiential destiny.
Seven groups of Seraphim
Supreme Seraphim: highest of the 7 revealed orders of local
universe angels. Function in 7 groups.
1. Son-Spirit Ministers: serve the high sons and
spirit-origin beings resident in the local universe. (e.g.
Universe Son, Universe Spirit, Bright and Morning Star, the Paradise
Avonals.
2. Court Advisors: helpers attached to all orders of
adjudication. Serve as defenders of
mortals, exemplify mercy, they know the underlying facts of personal motives
and racial tendencies of mortals.
3. Universe Orientators: facilitate the passage of
ascending pilgrims as they pause on Salvington, to become a first stage spirit
being in the superuniverse of Orvonton.
They prepare us for the relationships of the next universe age.
4. The Teaching Counselors: assistants and secretaries to
all local universe teachers, e.g. Melchizedeks, Trinity Teacher Sons, the
morontia mortals who help those just behind them and even the teachers of time
on the individual worlds.
5. Directors of Assignment: a body of 144 Supreme Seraphim,
elected by the angels serving on the evolutionary and architectural spheres of
creature habitation. Coordinate seraphic
service and preside over all seraphic assemblies re: duty or worship.
6. The Recorders: official recorders for the supreme
seraphim.
7. Unattached Ministers: self-directed servers on the
architectural spheres and inhabited planets. Fill-in wherever needed.
Superior Seraphim: in charge of the higher
activities of a local universe. Nebadon
is a young universe, so we don't have: many here. Function in 7 groups:
1. The Intelligence Corps: personal staff of Gabriel, the
Bright and Morning Star. Gather
information of the realms for him, this information goes directly to Salvington
on an independent circuit.
2. The Voice of Mercy: a corps of angels who portray mercy
-they foster the higher impulses and holier emotions of men and angels.
3. Spirit Co-Ordinators: entrusted with the task of
preparing the ascendant sojourners on Salvington to go from the highest
morontia level to the: status of new born spirit beings. They instruct the morontia graduates on the
newly attained capacities of the mind of the spirit
4. Assistant Teachers: helpers to the teaching
counselors. Corps on Urantia to further
the cause of truth and righteousness.
5. The Transporters.. Assist personalities who are unable to travel
from one sphere to another themselves.
Cannot transport our flesh and
blood bodies, but can transport all others.
6. The Recorders: reception, filing, and re-dispatch of the
records of Salvington; clerks of the
courts of Salvington and secretaries to rulers on Salvington.
Broadcasters:
sub-division, disseminate information from universe to superuniverse to
paradise.
7. The Reserves: held on Salvington for instant dispatch to
the farther-most worlds of Nebadon as requisitioned. Also carry messages.
Supervisor Seraphim: assigned to the exclusive
service of the constellations - headquarters on constellation capitals but
function throughout Nebadon. 7 groups:
1. Supervising Assistants: helpers of the Most Highs,
concerned with the unification and stabilization of a whole constellation.
2 Law Forecasters:
place before the constellation lawmakers a forecast of how any proposed
enactment would affect the lives of freewill creatures. Speak for those who cannot be present to
speak for themselves, even mortal men.
3. Social Architects: enhance all sincere social contacts
and further the social evolution of universe creatures, from individual planets
up through morontia training worlds.
Bring together suitable people to form efficient working groups on earth
and some times they re-form on the mansion worlds. Groups are 3 people or more.
4. Ethical Sensitizers: promote the growth of creature
appreciation of the morality of interpersonal relationships - we come under
their full guidance at the brotherhood schools on Edentia.
5. The Transporters: personality transporters, carrying
beings to and from the, headquarters of the constellations. Travel speed -555,
000 to 559,000 miles per second.
6. The Recorders: special recorders of constellation
affairs.
7. The Reserves: held on the: headquarters of the
constellations - serve as messengers, attached to Vorondadek sons or Most High
Regent of Urantia.
Administrative Seraphim: administrative duties of local
system, on system capitals, mansion, morontia spheres, and inhabited worlds. 7
groups:
1. Administrative Assistants: to system sovereign, a
primary Lanonandek son, and to the governments of the world rulers, the
planetary princes. On Urantia there are:
1,000 attached to the Melchizedek receivers and their successors in planetary
authority.
2. Justice Guides: present the summary of evidence:
concerning the eternal welfare of men and angels when such matters cone up for
adjudication in the tribunals of a system or planet. (e.g.
cases of mortal survival.) Very
few of these angels were lost in the Lucifer rebellion.
3. Interpreters of Cosmic Citizenship: after completion of
mansion world training we get citizenship on local system capital and we pause
to enjoy Jerusem. These seraphim serve
as guides to the new citizens and quicken their appreciation of the responsibilities
of universe government. Associated with
the material sons, they portray cosmic citizenship to the material mortals on
inhabited worlds.
4. Quickeners of Morality: cosmic morality is the
interaction of liberty and loyalty. "The highest moral choice is the
choice of the highest possible value, and always, in any sphere, in all of them
- this is to chose to do the will of God." P.435 “If man thus chooses, he is great, though he
be the humblest citizen of Jerusem or even the least mortals on Urantia. (p.435)
5. The Transporters: function in the local systems
(Satania), carry passengers back and forth from Jerusem to planets.
6. The Recorders: keepers of the threefold records of the:
local systems - material, morontial, and spiritual.
7. The Reserves: on Jerusem, visit with the newly arrived
ascending mortals from the mansion worlds.
Planetary Helpers: headquarters on system
capitals and are primarily assigned to the planetary Adams. On Urantia, the majority were removed upon
the collapse: of the Adamic regime, but we still have some. 7 groups:
1. The Voices of the Garden: the personal seraphim of Adam
and Eve (material son and daughter).
Help in the physical and intellectual upstepping of the races.
2. The Spirits of Brotherhood: help to achieve racial
harmony and social cooperation among diverse races on an evolutionary world.
3. The Souls of Peace: peace is not the natural state: of
the material realms. Help the worlds
realize peace on earth and good-will among men.
Vivona, from Adam's day, still on Urantia.
4. The Spirits of Trust: inculcate trust into the minds of
evolving men - entire group transferred to new regime after Adamic miscarriage.
5. The Transporters: serve individual worlds; transport
personalities from Urantia to Jerusem.
6. The Recorders: record planetary affairs as they relate
to universe government.
7. The Reserves: maintained on Jerusem - personal message
bearers of the local system.
Transition Ministers: serve wherever they can
contribute to creature transition from the material to the spiritual. Heavily concentrated on the 7 mansion worlds.
7 groups:
1. Seraphic Evangels
2 Racial Interpreters
3. Mind Planners
4. Morontia Counselors
5. Technicians
6. Recorder-Teachers
7. Ministering Reserves
Seraphim of the Future: on older realms and more
advanced planets of Nebadon. Not
directly concerned with us.
Seraphic destiny: origin is in
local universes. Some seraphim may be elevated to Brilliant Evening Stars at
local universe level, but most strive to reach Seraphington (the angelic
threshold to paradise and deity attainment, the transition sphere from the
ministry of time to the exalted service of eternity.
How seraphim attain paradise:
1. By achieving perfection of specialized service as a
celestial artisan, a technical adviser, or a celestial recorder and gain
admission to the paradise seraphic abode in a personal capacity. To become a paradise companion and then
perhaps to become an eternal minister and advisor to the seraphic orders.
2. To be summoned to Seraphington from on high.
3. To attain paradise by the evolutionary mortal
technique. The supreme choice of
seraphim is to be: guardian angels in order to attain finality and be qualified
for assignment to the eternal spheres of seraphic service. They are called guardians of destiny - they
guide material creatures in the path of divine destiny and also
determine their own high destiny by doing so.
Guardians of destiny come from the ranks of the more experienced angelic
personalities of all orders of seraphim.
All surviving mortals of Adjustor-fusion destiny have temporary
guardians and they become permanently attached before mortal ascenders leave
the mansion worlds.
Angels are created "a
little higher than us". P.441. But
they may go down to those who do start at the bottom and pilot us to the doors
of Havona. As we begin the circles of
Havona, our seraphim leave us to travel the 7 circles of seraphic light on
Seraphington the angelic destination of the Grand Universe. Some destiny guardians accompany their mortal
associates through the Havona circles, but all evolutionary seraphim traverse
Seraphington.
Seraphington is the destiny
sphere for angels and angels are not absolutely sure of their eternal future
until they attain seraphington. No angel
attaining seraphington has every gone astray, sin will never find response in
the heart of a seraphim of completion.
Graduates
of Seraphington are variously assigned: destiny guardians of Havona-circle
experience usually enter the mortal finaliter corps. Others rejoin their mortal associates on
paradise and some become the everlasting associates of the mortal Finaliters.
The
Corps of Seraphic Completion
These seraphim from the local
universes have experientially compensated the differential in divinity
potential which set them apart from the ministering spirits of the central and
superuniverses. Angels of the seraphic
corps of completion serve as associates of the supperuniverse seconaphim and as
associates to the high paradise-Havona orders of supernaphim. The career of time is finished; from here on,
they are servants of God, consorts of divine personalities and the peers of the
paradise finaliters.
Many completion seraphim return
to their native universes. Nebadon,
being a young universe, has some completion seraphim - they mainly serve with
the supreme orders of seraphim, but even on Urantia we do have: 12 specialized
groups of the seraphic corps of completion.
Most want to serve as bestowal attendants of the incarnate Paradise
sons.
"Throughout the whole
mortal adventure of finding God and achieving divine perfection, these spirit
ministers of seraphic completion, together with the faithful ministering
spirits of time, are always and forever your true friends and unfailing
helpers." P.442

Government (p. 1250)
"The Most Highs rule in the
kingdoms of men through many celestial forces and agencies but chiefly through
the ministry of seraphim. " p. 1250
"Seraphim and their
associated cherubim have much to do with the details of the superhuman
government of a planet, especially of worlds which have been isolated by
rebellion. The angels, ably assisted by
the midwayers, function on Urantia as the actual supermaterial ministers who
execute the mandates of the resident governor general and all his associates
and subordinates." P.1250
The planetary government of
Urantia is unlike that of any world in the Satania system, even in all Nebadon,
because of the following unusual circumstances:
1. The life modification status (experimental planet)
2. The Lucifer rebellion
3. The Adamic default
4. We were a bestowal world of the universe sovereign. Michael of Nebadon is the Planetary Prince of
Urantia.
5. The special function of the 24 planetary directors.
6. The location of the archangels' circuit here.
7. The once incarnated Machiventa Melchizedek as Vicegerent
Planetary Prince.
Sovereignty of Urantia: at the
time of the Lucifer rebellion. Urantia
had no relationship with the local universe because our planetary prince
rebelled. Only after Michael's bestowal
here was he proclaimed our Planetary Prince.
This settled the status of our world, but aside from establishing the
Jerusem commission of 24 former Urantians to represent him, ichael did not assume any personal
administration of our planet. One of
this council is now always resident on Urantia as resident governor
general. Recently, Machiventa
Melchizedek was made acting planetary prince for Michael, but he has not
changed the planetary government at all.
"there is little likelihood that any marked change will be made in
the government of Urantia during the present dispensation unless the vicegerent
planetary prince should arrive to assume his
titular responsibilities." (P.
1251) some believe he will not come for a long time, some look for his
appearance any day.
The Board of Planetary
Supervisors: management of Urantia entrusted to a special group on Jerusem, of
24 one-time Urantians. All were real
leaders on our planet. This board is especially
concerned with the supervision of those activities on this world which result
from the fact that here Michael experienced his terminal bestowal. Make frequent trips here. They also act as advisory supervisors of the
36 other rebellion isolated worlds of the system.
The Resident Governor General:
every 100 years, the Jerusem 24 pick one member to live on our world as
resident governor general. At present,
the 20th being to be a governor general is serving. No actual authority, but represents the
24. He is the leader of all celestial
beings on our planet. Urantia is
represented on Jerusem by the returning governor general, who sits on the
system sovereign's cabinet of planetary princes. Machiventa has not yet assumed his place.
The Most High Observer: this is
a Vorondadek son, an observer for the Most Highs of Edentia, the trustee of
planetary sovereignty. He is here
because after the Lucifer rebellion, certain aspects of planetary government
were seized by the Most Highs. "in
a crisis the actual and sovereign head of the government, excepting in certain
purely spiritual matters, would be this Vorondadek son of Edentia now on
observation duty. (in these exclusively spiritual problems and in certain
purely personal matters, the supreme authority seems to be vested in the
commanding archangel attached to the divisional headquarters of that order
which was recently established on Urantia).
(p.1253). The Most High has the
power to seize the planetary government in times of grave planetary crisis,
this has happened 33 times. "At
such times the Most High observer functions as the Most High regent, exercising
unquestioned authority over all ministers and administrators resident on the
planet excepting only the divisional organization of the archangels." (P.
1253)
The Planetary Government:
Urantia has no formal government along the lines of universe organization. The 24 counselors come the nearest to being
our legislative branch, the governor general is chief executive, with the veto
power resident in the Most High Observer.
No judicial powers operative on the planet, only the conciliating
commissions.
"The absence of the
corporeal staff of a planetary prince and the material regime of an Adamic son
and daughter is partially compensated by the special ministry of seraphim and
by the unusual services of the midway creatures. The absence of the planetary prince is
effectively compensated by the triune presence of the archangels, the Most High
Observer, and the governor general." P.1254
The Archangels circuit saves
time and makes our unusual government effective. It is used in times of emergencies, and
compensates for our planetary isolation.
Each day begins with a
conference. Present are the governor
general, the planetary chief of archangels, the Most High observer, the
supervising supernaphim, the chief of resident life: carriers, and invited
guests.
The cabinet of the governor
general is 12 seraphim, the acting chiefs of the 12 groups of special angels
functioning as the immediate superhuman directors of planetary progress and
stability.
The master seraphim of planetary
supervision: the first governor general arrived here as the spirit of truth was
poured out. With him were 12 corps of
special seraphim, seraphington graduates.
They are known as the master seraphim of planetary supervision. They are under the immediate direction of the
resident governor general, and are directed by the seraphic council of 12, the
acting chiefs of each group. The
planetary chief of seraphim is a volunteer supernaphim of the primary order who
has been here since the default of the chief of angelic hosts at the time of
the Caligastia secession.
The 12 Corps of Master
Seraphim function as follows:
1. The Epochal Angels: angels of the current age, the
dispensational group. Oversee the
affairs of each generation as they are supposed to fit into the age in which
they occur.
2. The Progress Angels: they initiate the evolutionary
progress of the successive social ages, foster the development of the inherent
progressive trend of evolutionary creatures, make things what they ought to be.
3. The Religious Guardians: "angels of the
churches", maintain the ideals of that which has survived for safe:
transit of moral values from i epoch to another. Checkmate to angels of progress, translate
from one generation to another the imperishable values of the old and passing
forms into the new and less stabilized patterns of thought and conduct.
4. The Angels of Nation Life: "angels of the
trumpets", directors of the political performances of Urantia national
life. Overcontrol of international
relations. Through this group do the "Most Highs rule in the kingdoms of
men."
5. The Angels of the Races: work for the conservation of
the evolutionary races of time.
6. The Angels of the Future: projection angels, forecast a
future age and plan for the better things of an advanced dispensation. They are the architects of the successive
eras.
7. The Angels of Enlightenment: foster planetary education,
mental and moral training of individuals, families, groups, schools,
communities, nations, and whole races.
8. The Angels of Health: assist mortal agencies dedicated to
the promotion of health and the prevention of disease.
9. The Home Seraphim: preserve and advance the home, the
basic institution of human civilization.
10. The Angels of Industry: foster industrial development and
improve economic conditions among Urantia peoples.
11. The Angels of Diversion: foster the values of play, humor,
and rest. Uplift man's recreational
diversions and promote more profitable use of leisure time.
12. The Angels of Superhuman Ministry: the angels of
the angels.
"None of these angelic
groups exercise direct or arbitrary control over the domains of their
assignment. They cannot fully control
the affairs of their respective realms of action, but they can and do so
manipulate planetary conditions and so associate circumstances as favorably to
influence the spheres of human activity to which they are attached."

and higher conceptions into human minds, they often act to intensify some
higher ideal which has already appeared within a human intellect." P.1256
"The master seraphim insure
planetary progress against vital jeopardy through the mobilization, training,
and maintenance of the: reserve corps of destiny. The chief function of these reservists is to
insure against breakdown of evolutionary progress; they are the provisions
which the celestial forces have made against surprise; they are the guarantees
against disaster." P. 1256
The Reserve Corps of Destiny:
living men and women who have been admitted to the special service of the
superhuman administration of world affairs.
Chosen by the spirit directors of the realm each generation. Must be competent and trustworthy to assume
these responsibilities. Sufficient
mental capacity, adequate moral status, and requisite spirituality, they are
quickly assigned to the appropriate celestial group of planetary personalities
as human liaisons, mortal assistants."

The Planetary Chief of Seraphim
confirms a mortal's attachment to the seraphic corps and appoints a personal
destiny guardian to serve with the mortal reservist. On Urantia we have 12 reserve corps of
destiny, one for each seraphic group.

Guardian angels, devoted to the
ministry of individual mortals
"These attending seraphim
have functioned as the spiritual helpers of mortal man in all the great events
of the past and the present." P. 1241
Seraphim have ministered on
Urantia since the earliest times of human intelligence. Appeared with arrival of the first thought
adjuster. They are indispensable to
terrestrial escape. (p. 568)
Guardian
angels
Certain groups of humans do have
personal angels since the bestowal of Michael.
They are assigned in accordance with human intelligence, spirituality,
and destiny. "also, when any human
being makes the supreme decision, when there is a real betrothal with the
adjuster, a personal guardian is immediately assigned to that soul." P. 1242
For normal humans, seraphic
assignment is made in terms of circle advancement:
7th circle - 1 guardian angel
per 1,000 people
6th circle - 2 angels per 500
people
5th circle - 2 angels per 100
people
4th circle - 2 angels per 10
people
3rd circle - personal guardian
angel
The
Destiny Guardians
Seraphim become guardians of
destiny only when humans:
-make a supreme decision to
become Godlike, or
-enter the 3rd circle, or
-are mustered into the reserve
corps.
These seraphim are all
volunteers.
"The angels develop an
abiding affection for their human associates, and you would, if you could only
visualize the seraphim, develop a warm affection for them. Divested of material bodies, given spirit
forms, you would be very near the angels in many attributes of
personality. They share most of your
emotions and experience some additional ones.
The only emotion actuating you which is somewhat difficult for them to
comprehend is the legacy of animal fear that bulks so large in the mental life
of the average inhabitant of Urantia. "

When a seraphic pair accept
guardian assignment, they serve for the remainder of the human's life. "on the spiritual level, seraphim make
personal many otherwise impersonal and prepersonal ministries of the universe;
they are co-ordinators. On the
intellectual level they are the correlators of mind and morontia; they are interpreters. And on the physical level they manipulate
terrestrial environment through their liaison with the master physical
controllers and through the cooperative ministry of the midway creatures." P. 1244
Seraphic domains of action
They are mind stimulaters,
promote circle-making decisions in the human mind. They do this from outside inward, working
through the environment of human beings.
"seraphim function as teachers of men by guiding the footsteps of
the human personality into paths of new and progressive experiences. To accept the guidance of a seraphim rarely
means attaining a life of ease. In
following this leading you are sure to encounter, and if you have the courage,
to traverse, the rugged hills of moral choosing and spiritual progress." P.1245
Guardians are most active when
adjusters are least active.
Seraphic ministry to mortals:
They guard us only. Not directly concerned with our prayers. No interference with free will, but once we
make a choice, the angels act to make the best possible use of the course we've
chosen. They are with us for many an
age. They can function on the material
plane and can even make contact with us, with the help of the midwayers and
physical controllers, but this is rare.
Guardians after death:
Upon death, our records,
survival value identity, and morontial soul are kept by the destiny
guardian. The angel goes to the 1st
mansion world to wait for us to awaken after 3 days. Group guardians do the same thing for the
sleeping survivors who are awakened at the dispensational roll call. When we awaken on the mansion worlds, for the
first time, we will actually see our angelic companions of earth days.
"On the morontia spheres
the attending seraphim (there are two of them) are your open companions. These angels not only consort with you as you
progress through the career of the transition worlds, in every way possible
assisting you in the acquirement of morontia and spirit status, but they also
avail themselves of the opportunity to advance by study in the extension
schools for evolutionary seraphim maintained on the mansion worlds."

Our first assignment of morontia
life will be as assistants to the seraphim, because the human race was created
just a little lower than the simpler types of angelic orders.
Before leaving the mansion
worlds, all mortals will have permanent seraphic guardians. As we ascend the morontia spheres, the
seraphic guardians witness and certify our union with the Thought
Adjuster. When we reach the mature
morontia estate, they come with us through Jerusem and the associated worlds. Then they go with us to Edentia and its 70
spheres. Next they go with us to the
Melchizedeks and to the universe headquarters worlds. Then the Seraphic Guardians go to Salvington
with us, where we stand face o face with the sovereign of all Nebadon. And even after this, they accompany us
through all the sectors of the superuniverse, then to the receiving worlds of
Uversa, right up until we finally enseconaphim for the Havona flight. Some guardian seraphim even follow the
ascending pilgrim through Havona. Others
temporarily leave the ascending pilgrim to achieve the circles of Seraphington,
as the pilgrim traverses the circles of the central universe. But
they are waiting for us on the shores of Paradise when we awaken from the
last sleep of time. They then enter the
finaliter corps and the seraphic corps of completion. "Man and angel may or may not be
reunited in eternal service, but wherever seraphic assignment may take them,
the seraphim are always in communication with their former wards of the
evolutionary worlds, the ascendant mortals of time. The intimate associations and the
affectionate attachments of the realms of human origin are ever forgotten nor
ever completely severed. In the eternal
ages men and angels will cooperate in the divine service as they did in the
career of time. " p.1248-1249
The assignment of Guardian of
Destiny is highly prized by seraphim, for it is the surest way for them to
achieve the paradise deities. Only
destiny guardians are mustered into the mortal corps of the finality, and these
seraphim achieve spiritual bi-unification on seraphington before this. In this way, they use with each other, and a
non-adjuster fragment of the paradise father.
"And so do some of your loving seraphic associates in time also
become your finaliter associates in eternity, children of the supreme and
perfected sons of the Paradise Father." P. 1249
